Jean, this is a quote from Chanel.....fitting don't you think?

“I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”

still like macrame-belts, details; fanny packs may not be pretty, but are really practical; stirrup pants are just a take-off from ski pants and are great for tucking in boots; once lingerie came out from under clothing, don't think it will ever go entirely back under! do agree there is a difference and appropriateness to what one wears to office and to non-work related activities.

For the budget-minded, you can substitute one of those recyclable grocery bags for the soft-sided suitcase. I keep one in my briefcase for books or extra paperwork, and it's been a lifesaver.

For fun, pick one that makes your "statement of the week" whether it's high tech, high fashion, or your favorite food store.

Cute little dresses are hard when you are two different sizes but if they are not too structured on the top, they can be altered.

As for the sizing, some manufactures are now doing "vanity sizing" because they have found that women will buy an item just because it shows a smaller size! Not so much for clothing made in Europe where they are smaller frame and more slender. I have sizes 2-10 in my closet and they all fit so I can see why you would be confused.

I'm so glad to read this. I get tired of feeling like it's only I who doesn't fit the cute little dresses that are too large on top if they're just right through the hips. Is there a correlation between expensive clothes and large 'small' sizes? In other words a size 8 that in a less expensive line would be a size 10 or 12?
